Celebrate Cork Culture with us Friday 21st September!!
Vividly-coloured and often psychedelic, these posters were printed to promote poetry readings by some of the most iconic poets of the era, including: Allen Ginsberg, Basil Bunting, Ed Dorn, Ted Hughes and Tom Raworth. These readings took place in a very unique setting ‘Morden Tower’, a medieval turret in Newcastle, leased by Tom & Connie Pickard. This poster exhibition is brought to you by UCC Library.
Renowned poet Tom Pickard will perform a live reading of his work at 6pm. Pickard’s book of poetry ‘Fiend’s Fell’ was amongst the 10 best poetry books of 2017 selected by the New York Times. Tom also founded the Morden Tower Reading Room series, whose colourful posters are on exhibition here at St. Peter’s.
