Cork Heritage Day Sat 17th August
Date: 17th August
Place: St. Peter's Cork
Cork Heritage Open Day is a unique event celebrating some of Cork’s most fascinating buildings and our rich heritage.
This year, St. Peter’s Cork has developed a special Historic Spine Walking Tour that kicks off at 11.00 am at Elizabeth Fort Gates – Dive into Cork’s past – From its monastic start, to the Vikings and Normans to more prosperous eras when Cork was a medieval port town and later a trade hub in Shandon.
We also have a fantastic Street Games Talk at 11.00am at St. Peter’s Cork where local historian Liam O’ hUigín will take us on a nostalgic trip down memory lane discussing the street games of the 1950s.
