A collection of artwork from students of St Aloysius College, Carrigtwohill
St Peter’s Cork is delighted to host St Aloysius College Carrigtwohill to exhibit their students’ work this March.
This exhibition contains works from St Aloysius’ College in Carrigtwohill, Cork. The existing school opened in 1939 and functioned as a boarding school until the late eighties. Today the school is a voluntary non fee paying post primary school. Our present enrollment is 746 students.
The Art selected for this exhibition, features works from 1st to 6th year, girls aged 12 to 19.
The school’s ethos is to develop the uniqueness of the individual pupil and foster their personal creativity. “Aspiring Art” was created with this in mind. No specific themes were given to the students so as to encourage their creativity. The exhibition is divided into different sections including imaginative, observation, sculpture and craft. We feel that this exhibition is inspiring as it showcases the talent and creativity present among young people today. It is important to celebrate not only academic talent but also artistic talent and we hope that this exhibition has given our students in the college an opportunity to be inspired and to create!
If you wish to buy any of these beautiful works, please contact Ciara O’Shea, Art Teacher, St Aloysius College (021- 4883341). Proceeds of the exhibition go to students and to the school.
Exhibition runs from 21st -26th of March 2017
