Venue Hire: Education
St. Peter's Cork Venue Hire: Education
St Peter’s is Cork’s oldest church, set back off the main thoroughfare of North Main Street, we are a cultural and heritage site that hosts regular educational exhibitions and the venue is available for hire for any educational event.
2016 sees St Peter’s Cork as Centre of Commemoration for 1916 and is a resource for information on all centenary programmes across the city. A year-long exhibition, Rebellion! Curated by Rachel Abraham, gives an accessible yet in depth look at the events leading up to, during and after the Easter Rising.
Our mezzanine gallery exhibition changes on a monthly basis and offers a variety of fine art, historic documentation and photography as part of its programme. In 2016 the focus in the mezzanine gallery will have thematic link to the 1916 Centenary programme but often focuses on particular areas such as the Census information from http://www.cso.ie/ to the lives of women in 1916 and national identity.
St Peter’s Cork welcomes a number of educational societies and organisations to hold lectures, conferences and workshops in our Cork venue. The ancient building lends itself to special interest groups, history students and professionals looking for a contemporary setting to hold lectures, workshops and discussions.
The venue is particularly well suited to hold audio-visual presentations with state of the art projection equipment and sound system in place.
School tours are always welcome and whilst bookings are advised to help plan a bespoke event for your students- groups are always welcome to drop by for an impromptu visit if in Cork!
55 pine and steel chairs, red carpet, cloth backdrop, candles, tables and white table cloths- we are happy for organisations to book their own furniture and decorations and have a number of trusted suppliers to recommend.
We have facilities in our venue to host drinks receptions and work with a number of excellent caterers from Cork on a regular basis. We are happy to work with your specific caterers if preferred and can offer site specific advice at your request.
Access to the exhibitions is free of charge during public opening hours. Special rates for venue hire to hold lectures, workshops, seminars and to book private tours can be negotiated by contacting our Programming Team directly
