St. Peter's Cork Venue Hire: Education

St Peter’s is Cork’s oldest church, set back off the main thoroughfare of North Main Street, we are a cultural and heritage visitor centre that hosts regular educational exhibitions and the venue is available for hire for any educational event.

Our central heritage exhibition is called A City by the Sea and was curated by famed Irish historian Turtle Bunbury. It focuses on the vital role that the harbour and river played in shaping Cork city’s profile and developing it as an important trading post for Europe and around the world. Told in accessible and entertaining way, you’ll be sure to learn something knew about your city, as a local and visitors will have a great understanding on the rich history of Cork city.

Our mezzanine gallery exhibition changes on a monthly basis and offers a variety of visual art, education and community projects as part of its colourful programme.

St Peter’s Cork welcomes educational societies, schools and organisations to hold lectures, conferences and workshops in our Cork venue. The ancient building lends itself to special interest groups, history students and professionals looking for a contemporary setting to hold lectures, workshops and discussions.

The venue is particularly well suited to hold audio-visual presentations with state of the art projection equipment and sound system in place.

School tours are always welcome and whilst bookings are advised to help plan a bespoke event for your students- groups are always welcome to drop by for an impromptu visit if in Cork! We can also provide guided tours and interactive presentations for groups. For more info please contact our Education Team at info@stpeterscork.ie
